Queensland Bottle Tree + Terracotta Pot on Wrought Iron Stand
The caudex of this Queensland Bottle Tree is large and gathered like a knot, and the trunk has been gently wired to give it a soft, natural curve. Raised on a stand, the base sits closer to eye level, where its form can be appreciated up close.
Native to the dry scrub of central Queensland, the bottle tree stores water in its swollen trunk to see it through long droughts. First Nations people of the region have long drawn both water and food from it.
A vintage terracotta water pot and a wrought iron stand from Turkey give it an old-world, sun-warmed character. It suits a Mediterranean or rustic home, and brings the same warmth to a crisp, modern room.
It is happiest in bright light, indirect or direct.

Light & Care
